moving picture lab

In this lab, we created a stop motion video. For this one, i used 237 pictures or frames. The frame duration on each one except the first one is 0,1 seconds. The video is approximately 30 seconds.
At the end, the settings are not the same, because I had to change places.

Enjoy :)

Portraits

In this lab, we had the chance to make portraits of faces. The first three pictures are done in a studio with artificial light and the other three are done with natural light where the person is positioned next to a window.

this one was done in the studio with artificial light. he face is at a 45 degree angle. for this one i used short lighting.

this one is called "split lighting" because the light only hit one side of her face.

this one is the portrait. the artificial light goes straight on her face. as you can see, we don't see much of the white in her eye, because she moved them slightly to the right.

for this one, I used the window light. Its the 45 degree shot. the light that hits her left side of the face is called "short lighting" and the one on the right, that's the most closest to the camera is called "broad lighting".

This one is the spit lighting. Again, the light only hits the left side of her face.

For the portrait, the light directly hits her face. once again i asked the model to move her eyes a bit to the side so we could see the color in her eyes.

Focal Length of a Lens

In this lab, we test the length of the focal lens. With my camera the mininum is 18mm and its the widest, so we can capture everything but if you want to focus only on the face, you use the telephoto lens (55mm for my camera).

in  the first picture our subject is doing a kick. for this one i used the 55mm lens. as we can see, her front leg looks a lot bigger than the rest of her body.

with this one i used the wide angle lens (18mm). we can see that her whole body is normal size.

here i used the telephoto lens (55 mm). same effect as the first picture but different body part. Her hands look much bigger, even as big as her head.

In this one I used the 18 mm lens (wide angle). We can see everything clearly and the camera is not only focused on the hands but on the whole body.

For this one used the wide lens (18mm). the camera is focused not only on her face but on  everything else.

For this one, i used the 55 mm lens. Her face looks more appealing.
